Credit Crunch = Better hiring conditions?

Just wondering really - has anyone tried recruiting recently?

I'm wondering if the infamous "Credit Crunch" TM which has allegedly badly hit the financial services industry has buoyed the available unemployed workforce who need a TM1 Development job.

May have to dabble my toes in the recruitment waters again at some point soon and would appreciate any feedback from anyone who's tried recruiting over the last few months.

TIA

I haven't, but I HAVE noticed an upswing in recruiters wanting to "pick my brain" about a TM1 position, blah, blah (the cover story for "sound you out about whether you're hiring"), as well as the number of recruiters contacting my former boss.

This very morning a letter arrived for said boss offering a chance to be "entered into the draw to win a weekend for two..." (can't read where without opening the envelope) by calling in a temporary or contract role during Februray.

So I'm thinkin' that yes, it's getting real out there.

In the meantime I'm frantically trying to work out the rules syntax for predicting the numbers for the next Lotto draw.

Just in case.

There are never many TM1 jobs advertised but I have to say there have been even fewer than normal over the last couple of months. (Not that I am looking or anything!! ;) )

I've had about six agencies call me about the same position - one which I've already got through the TM1 grapevine, rather than via an agency. The company I'm moving to is trying to hire several TM1 specialists and is finding it difficult still, but I think that's because they are seeking highly skilled TM1 people with years of experience, and there just aren't that many of them.

I have had two agents ask me about how to "expand their network in TM1", both of whom I've directed to this very forum and to http://jobs.olapforums.com saying this is the single richest source of TM1 talent on the whole fandangled interweb. Haven't seen either of them here.

Unfortunately that is very true.

The few I have seen in my area basically want some one who could be a Director of Finance/Programmer/SysAdmin and by the way here are some peanuts for your trouble type of postings.

I got an email yesterday (From systems accountants) offering me 2 TM1 resources. That's never happened before.
