Active form template

Post by pmakulski »

When one asks to an Active Form, the default is Total level blue; mid levels yellow, 0 level white.
Where are these defaults stored?
Can one set up a template so our own colour preferences show up on first request?

So have you erm looked in the manual? This is explained relatively clearly.

No. TM1 doesn't let you set your own default format for active forms (would be a nice enhancement though, the more people that request it the more likely it is to happen.) However I know of at least one commercial addin that lets you change active form or slice formatting with one click to a saved default. When I was last associated with the company that sells this addin there was talk of adding some event monitoring so that all new active forms or slices would be reformatted to the preferred default however I don't know if this has been implemented in the latest version of the software.

Sorry, I don't get your sarcastic comment about reading the manual.

I have read the help pdfs, pretty much in their entirety. If you have chapter and verse to point to, please be obliging and mention it.
But since the answer is "no this isn't possible", I'd be interested in seeing how they phrased that in the manual.

I read your comment as meaning where are the active form format defaults stored in the active form worksheet?

In which case that is covered pretty clearly in the End user Guide > Active Forms > Revealing the format Range.

You meant where is the GLOBAL default stored. But that wasn't 100% clear from your post. Apologies for a hasty judgement but there are an awful lot of dumb questions asked on this forum these days. The global default is stored in some code module of tm1p.xla and would therefore seem to be non-editable (a remarkable piece of UI design I agree.)

Yes, I suppose my question wasn't quite clear. I was looking for the global defaults.
I usually wait until the second dumb question before jumping on somebody.

It isn't a big deal, but it would be a nice enhancement if one could put the corporate colours, logos and other styles into a default template.

I think this feature is included in the link above (even if it isn't mentioned on the webpage.)
