Take Cube from TM1 to Transformer / Powerplay

Post by IBS »

Hello Community.

I'd like to ask you if and how it is possible to take a cube (with the values from the measure dimension) from TM1 into Transformer (in order to hav a .mdc in Powerplay).

So far we have got some results but they are not satisfying by now. We have successfully loaded all dimensions - except measures - into Framework Manager as datasource package and from there into Transformer.
The measures dimension is specified in TM1. The cube is loaded trough a TI-Process (Turbo Integrator). It's an ODBC which points to an Excel file (.xls).

My TM1 Version: 9.5.1
My Excel Version: 12.0
My OS: Windows Server 2003 32 Bit
My Transformer Version: 8.4.1
Framework Manager is a 8.4.1 too.

We would very much appreciate an answer :)

Thank you very much,
Yannis

PS: If I missed some information please reply.

We're able to create a Cube in Transformer but the Measures Dimension is not shown.

If we open the cube all values are "na"

Transformer does not allow you to import fact data from OLAP sources (except SAP BW). This is because efficiently importing fact data from anything other than a very small cube is not viable through the reporting-based query engine. Transformer does have special query support to efficiently extract data from SAP BW.

I would suggest extracting your TM1 cube data to a CSV file and using that as input to Transformer.

Or could you just create the PowerCube in Transformer directly from your Excel file? Transformer supports Excel-based data sources.
