CX: CXMD Server not found

Hi all,

thanks to the community I found out how to switch on TM1 security in Cognos Express. However, I can still not log into TM1 Web, can anyone give me a hint?

I can address http://<servername>/tm1web/TM1WebLogin.aspx, but after I entered my login credentials, there is a message like "registration failed. Please try again... 87: TM1APIDOTNET Exception: - CXMD: The specified Server was not found"

In the TM1 Web log, it says:

[14] ERROR Applix.TM1.API.Internal._TM1Main - Failed attempt to connect to host [Cognos] on port [5498] with SSLCertID [tm1adminserver] Message [TM1APIDOTNET Ausnahme: - System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Es konnte keine Verbindung hergestellt werden, da der Zielcomputer die Verbindung verweigerte 192.168.100.87:5498].

The last part of it seems to indicate that the target computer refused the connection, but port 5498 is released for sure.

Any clue?

I noticed that apart from the CXMD service there is a TM1 Service as well, but I can not start it, this is in the log:

tm1sdx64 error: 2
Data directory not specified. Aborting server start up.

There is a web.config under C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Cognos Express\Xcelerator\TM1Web, should I amend anything here?

How embarrassing... I entered the proper server name in the web.config, and it worked. It's all that easy.
