Credentials don't work in EViewer when changed in TM1 Explor

Hi Everyone! :D :D

Good day!

May I just ask if that's a real behavior of EViewer or is there a setting modifiable somewhere?

I have a username: marketing with password:marketing1. This was before I published a cube in EViewer for reporting purposes using another user account (with admin rights).
After I successfully published the cube, user marketing was able to view all the views I created. But when I changed or whenever he changed his password (marketing1) into another, he couldn't log in anymore to the EViewer using that new password, although he successfully logged-in in TM1 Explorer whenever he checked/tried.

When we changed the password back to the previous one, his EViewer was good again. Is there something wrong with my settings/config? Can I modify that? It seems to me that, with that behavior, I have republish a cube whenever I change a TM1 password. Hmmm... :(

Does anyone have an idea?

Thank you so much! :D :D

EV caches a lot of meta data (including security). Restart the EV service and it will work with the new password.

Hi Sir Lotsaram,

Does that mean that I will have to restart that service whenever a user changes his password? Isn't there any configuration on that?

Thanks.

Normal practice is to restart EV daily/weekly depending on the frequency of meta data updates in TM1. (that is restart EV after you have changes to dimensions or security settings in TM1.) Then you shouldn't have any problems except for user driven intra-day password changes. (although as TM1 does not enforce a password expiry so this should be a seldom occurrance and best handled on an exception basisi when an issue is reported.) If you are using TM1 security mode then I think this would be the only solution, however if you use integrated login or CAM then this would not be necessary.
