TM1 Forum

I have recently moved my TM1 Server install to a new server and initially everything was working ok. Somehow a gremlin as got into the system over the Christmas break and caused some trouble.

I use TM1 8.15 as an Excel plugin, but when i try to load TM1 i get error code E21 - Unable to write, shutting down. After this i then get a runtime C++ error in Excel and it shuts down.

Nothing has been altered on the client PC's since the server move.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully you'll want to change your name after you've been here a while

If you are running a server locally it sounds to me like the security settings on your local machine or for your username have changed and you are no longer able to write to the part of your C drive where the data directory is. The path to the data directory is in your TM1 options box.

Check if you can create or change a file in this directory.
