Excel 2010 SP 1 & TM1 9.5.1

Post by afshin »

G'Day,

I understand that 9.5.1 is not officially supported with Excel 2010 however we have tested the same and have deployed it for a 2 users as a pilot group before we rolling it out to other users in a Dev environment.

Whilst both the user faces no problems connecting to TM1 using Perspectives. One user has a strange issue i.e. Another instance ( window ) of Excel opens up where the TM1 Addin is not enabled as a result he gets errors while accessing the worksheet. This worked on Excel 2010 but has cropped up since he has installed Service pack 1.

The other user has absolutely no problem accessing TM1 ( drill through's ) etc. This client is on Excel 2010 Service Pack 1.

I suspect this an Excel 2010 setting where you can specify that another instance of Excel can be opened or something else

Has Anybody faced this problem before ? or can suggest where I should look at ..

Cheers

Sorry I hit the button too soon,

what I was trying to convey was and every time the user access a workbook from the tm1 applications folder it opens in an another window where in the TM1 addin is not enabled.

I haven't used 2010 (the first version in 14 years that I haven't obtained within weeks of its release, so much has 2007 turned me off Office but I digress...), however I'd suggest that you check one thing.

In 2007 it's found under the Office Button -> Excel Options -> Advanced -> scroll down to the General section near the bottom, and make sure that "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange" is unchecked.

I would hope that the option is in a similar location in 2010, but since many software companies {cough} seem to be more fixated on GUI flashiness than functionality these days, and especially given the mess that is the Office Ribbon, it's possible that they've moved it.
