TM1 in MS Sharepoint

Hi,
We have a requirement here to incorporate TM1 into MS Sharepoint.
I am aware that you can do this by having Cognos BI, so TM1 =>Cognos=>Sharepoint. But this is a 80-100K solution.
I think there was MDX mentioned some time back, but I'm certain that this was complicated and requires high level of maintenance.
I have also been informed that TM1 URL API can also do the job.
Has anyone successfully implemented TM1 URL API into Sharepoint? or have any other suggestions on how one can get TM1 into Sharepoint?
Thank you in advance.
Ken

You can do it easier than that. You can just call the core TM1 Web URL as a frame within SharePoint. If you have integrated login then the users go strainght to their landing page in TM1 Web and from an integration point of view some users may not even be aware they are using TM1.

Hello,
Just want to confirm that integrating TM1 Web sheets and cube views into MS SharePoint is as simple as stated in this post by Lotsaram.

. Please share your experiences with those that have done this. The MS SharePoint is a corporate wide mandate. Currently we are using Cognos Connection portal with TM1 Portlets.
Thank you in advance,

Yes, the URL API is easy to use and integrates well with Sharepoint. There are couple of points to mention:
* It works best with Integrated Login in mode 2 or 3 as the UX is seamless - i.e. TM1 just knows a user is logged in to their environment and passes this through security (using the UniqueId attribute). I'm not sure how Sharepoint integration works with Integrated Login mode 4 or 5. In login mode 1 (normal TM1 authentication) a small log-in pop-up displays asking for username and password - some people will find this annoying.
* The Sharepoint web part you need is called a Page Viewer:
Display a Web page on a SharePoint page by adding the Page Viewer Web Part
About the Page Viewer Web Part
EDIT - The last time I used it, the Page Viewer web part takes up a lot more screen real estate than I would have preferred. Added to the amount of screen being used for Sharepoint menus etc, it left much less room for TM1 content than was desired. You may have to make compromises and/ or spend a lot of time configuring the dimensions of the web part to maximise the amount of screen real estate available for your cube viewer or websheet.

Turn on integrated login and keep the output small, simple and sparsely formatted.

Does this work even if you use citrix as your portal to the weblink?

I suspect it would, although frankly, I've not tried. I do know that using Citrix to access regular TM1 Web works (really it is just IE in a Citrix session with a pre-defined URL).

There are inherent benefits of performance using Citrix for TM1Web although a bit overkill in terms of cost so if there are a few Citrix Boxes that are lying around then that's the way you go.
