Using Excel and change elements in dimensions

I'm studying features of TM1 in Excel client and I want to ask a question

Are there any ways to change elements of dimension in Excel. What I mean.

I put some link to Excel sheet, user clicks on it and dimension editor opens and user change elements in the dimension (for example add or delete Versions). I found DIMNM function but it only opens list of elements but I can't change them there

So if it is impossible - what is the best way to organize this possibility? May be put list of Versions on one column in one sheet and try to using TI process to form elements of dimension from that place?

Do you mean that you want to have one report, but a user can double click on the version and change to another version? Or do you mean that you want to physically add (or delete) an element from the dimension?

If the former you can just use subnm.

If you mean the latter then investigate dimension worksheets (aka xdi files). I'm pretty sure they're well covered in the documentation. You must be an administrator to edit dimensions though.

if you're looking to add an element to the dimension (as opposed to just change the selection), then you may find this helpful:

They are referring to websheets, but the process is the same for Excel.
