A remote server is over there somewhere {gestures into the distance}.
An Admin server stays at home and fills out the paperwork for its travel expenses.
It's possible that you may find a better explanation in the TM1 Operations Guide. Chapter 1 thereof, to be precise. The first few pages of the first chapter, to be more precise.
(That bit in the Request For Assistance Guidelines about the documentation sometimes being obscure? Yeah, the thing is, it doesn't so much apply to a question like that.)
