Possessed TM1 Service!

We had 3 tm1 servers running on a single box and decided to disable one of the servers (services) the other day. Weird, thing is when you look at the available servers in Architect it still seems active, but won't let you in. Not succeeding with this approach, we decided to kill the server through CMD prompt. We did! Unfortunately, our possessed  server was back there once again. Yes, we did restart the physical server (multiple times since then) still there in Architect and Tm1web (even though it doesn't exist under services or under task manager processes).

What are we missing? Some hardcoded value somewhere that triggers this server to magically appear?

Are you sure someone's not running the TM1 server as an application? If so, you won't see it in the Services list and you won't see it on Task Manager if it's not running under your ID. You may also try looking for the service key in the Registry. If it's still there delete it manually out of the Registry.

Also are you positive that your phantom server is actually running on the physical machine and not on another piece of hardware but with it's admin host pointing at the server in question?

Nope, it's not running. Service key makes more sense though, we'll try doing a clean up on the registry tonight. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's correct, it's our physical server it's running on and adminhost on Architect is pointed to the right location. Any user in the network that logs in using architect or tm1web can see the application(server) name.

Update: Still there even after deleting the registry key manually.

It should be easy enough to tell if the service is still running on the box you claim it is running on. Go to Task Mananger on that box and go to the Services tab. Make sure it is set to look at all the services running, not just those running under the ID you are logged in as. Look for TM1S.exe. If it's not listed then your "possessed" service is running on another box somewhere else on your network. If it is listed, are you sure you removed the correct key(s)? If it's still running then you didn't.
