Total Cube Access in TM1 contributor

Hi everyone,

Here is the problem I am having some trouble getting around:

TM1 version 9.5.1

I have a contributor app which includes views from 7 cubes. I want to have 3 of my users have normal access to their specific depts and complete access to 4 out of the 7 cubes in the appilcation. So these three 3 users are members of 3 different user groups (originally) which give them control over multiple pre-determined nodes in the approval hierarchy. (for example: John Doe is responsible for dept 1, dept 2, and dept 3 and jane doe is responsible for dept 4,5, and 6, etc.). Each one of these users is assigned to their specific departments so there user accounts are all assigned to different user groups in cognos connection. What I would like to have happen is to grant these 3 users complete control over 4 out of the 7 cubes in the contributor app while also making sure that they retain there original dept security status on 7 out of 7 cubes. my original thinking for this was to grant them access to all the nodes in the contributor app and then deny them the ability to view any data which is not located in those specified 4 cubes they have complete access to OR any data for their assigned departments. I am just having a bit of trouble engineering it and was hoping someone out there might have some ideas. Each user is responsible for 20-40 different depts.

So to kinda recap if I got a little messy with my explanation before: I need 3 users to have complete access to 4 cubes, and only "nodal" level access to the other 3 in a 7 cube contributor app. by 7 cube contributor app, I mean that all the views in the contributor app only reference 7 distinct cubes.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, I am currently just kinda stuck.

you can have a mixture of security through contributor and security through TM1.

Only the dimension that is your approval hierarchy would need security controlled from contributor, for the cubes that they will have complete access, you can just use TM1 for that.

SOLUTION:

I ended up scrapping that method and creating a separate contributor app with only those 4 cubes in it.
