Cognos Trial Edition

i downloaded
IBM Cognos BI Developer Edition &
IBM Cognos Express
and install it.

i would want to test the new Cognos 10 using TM1 as my datasource. As there isnt any trial edition for Cognos TM1 9.5, therefore i downloaded cognos express so that i can use the TM1.

My question is can i connect Cognos BI with TM1 that comes with Cognos Express ?

i do not have any problem creating a connection from IBM Cognos Express Manager to TM1.
but when i try creating a connection from IBM Cognos BI Developer Edition Manager to TM1 it gives the following error msg.

would like to find out if i am able to get it working using those two combination ?

Linking full fat Cognos BI to Excelerator (the TM1 engine in Cognos Express) is neither supported nor licensed, I'm afraid. So you are going to have issues making progress here.

We would like to do the reverse ie use Framework Manager (which can be installed alongside TM1 9.5.2) to build packages to read other data into TM1. But it appears that you need to install full fat BI to do this, and I am not sure when I can face losing days of my life wading through that particular swamp.

hey.. thanks for the tips. been spending some time trying to create connection to tm1 with the full fat Cognos BI.
If i create packages using the framework manager that comes with cognos express, does that mean that i can copy the packages over to be used by the full fat cognos BI ?

thinking of possible ways that I can do testing using the trial version.
