UPDATE:
When opening an excel file that is saved on the desktop Tm1 launches and works.
However when launching excel from start menu Tm1 splash screen shows but TM tab does not appear and when added in addins excel crashes.

Has anyone had any problems with TM1 when a machine is upgraded from Office 2003 to 2007 ?
I have tried upgrading, then I tried removing office completely and re-installing and running all available updates.
When you install TM1 and then tick it in the addins it just crashes excel.
When TM1 is installed on a new machine that has Office 2007 installed from the start it seems to works fine.
I am currently running 9.4.1 FP3.
Anyone got any ideas PLEASE !
Thanks
Lee

Re: Office 2007 with TM1
I am trying to recall the cause of this issue.....
Have you checked if the ADMIN HOST in the Server Explorer has been configured properly?
Also have you tried to re-install the TM1 Client? ?If you do, then make sure you delete the folder in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application DAta\Applix

Hi
Check the PATH to see if there are any references to folders that have 2003 or a prior version of TM1
Make sure that you are still loading the TM1P.XLA add in and not the ribbon.
Have you tried unticking the add in, shutting down excel and then starting Excel by clicking the tm1p.xla or (from the start menu IBM Cognos\TM1 Perspectives for Excel which is the same thing)
If all else fails you will probably need to clean the registry.
You mentioned that you had reinstalled office. Did you also try reinstalling tm1? When it was installed where you logged on to the machine as an Admin? I remember someone saying something about the need to run as admin when you install but I think that was only on Windows 7.

Re: Office 2007 with TM1
Hi ,
Thanks for your replies,
Admin host is fine, I have uninstalled TM1 and deleted the Applix and Cognos folders, Removed Ofiice completely, reinstalled Office, ran all windows updates, reinstalled TM1 client and all under an administrators log in.
I am definitely using the TM1p.xla and ignoring the ribbon. Unticking the addin closing excel and then reticking the addin crashes excel (but only when excel is launched via the startup menu).
I have also cleared the registry.
Its all very very strange, I have given the user his machine back as if he by passes the excel launch in the startup menu and uses either the Perpectives for MS Excel or opens excel from a saved spread sheet on his desktop it works.
I have cloned his machine so that I can play around but to be honest very much running out of ideas.
If I do find a fix I will be sure to let everyone know just incase.
Thanks again.
