TM1 Rule Error

A client of mine has been running TM1 Vers. 9.1 SP3 for a few years now. Only recently, when I open any rules file, the following error occurs:

“tm1 log config file error, restoring defaults. Root element is missing”

When I press OK on the error, the rules file does open though. It doesn’t affect any calculations in the cube.

Any suggestions on what could cause this error?
