Upgrade Issue TM1 8.X to Cognos Express 9.5

I'm having an issue with TM1 security, after upgrading from 8.X to CX 9.5.

After successfully installing the server, installing the Xcelerator client on a new machine works fine.

However, when I install the Xcelerator client on a machine that has previously had the old add-in installed, when logging in as an Admin, I cannot edit chores, TI processes, change security etc.

Even after uninstalling the Xcelerator client and deleting ALL old Applix folders and files (i.e. C:\Applix\ and AppData), the issue remains. I have been told by the client that they did not install the old client on their machines, merely copied folders across.

Even if I copy the bin directory containing the same tm1p8.lic file from the working machine, I do not get admin access.

One thing I notice is that the tm1p.ini file is created in the C:\Applix folder as opposed to the AppData folder on the fresh machine.

I am using native TM1 security, and have tried adding a new client and adding to the Admin group, and get the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

I don't use CX, but the symptoms sound exactly like a missing Perspectives license file rather than any issue with security as such. Take a look at this thread and see whether putting the tm1p8.lic licence file into the specified directory works for you.
