Hi,

Currently have 1st project phase budget model completed and live, but now moving into new forecast model development phase. Working with a single environment and one tm1 service server. Development will continue in the same server and some objects (dimensions) will be reused in new design, managing changes that impact current live budget model through change management processes.

Alternate options being create a new 'service' for development and testing of new models? This will entail a process for moving 'objects' to the live server and /or updating processes in prod server (eg. dim build TI) post testing and sign off in dev server. Has anyone had experience with this and have some pointers/ issues or warnings for completing development of further models using this method? Both dev and prod would be on same physical server.

Ultimately the customer will purchase licensing for installation of separate servers for test environment and production environment, but this will not occur in the immediate future.

Iboglix don't provide any tools to migrate objects between instances, however the file timestamps are pretty reliable.
Technically it's not hard to add further TM1 instances (or indeed run up multiple foreground servers) - just make sure the names/ports/directories are different. Given that TM1 is very poor at leveraging modern multicore servers (only feeder loading at startup and user queries, not calculation) it makes sense to do this - technically.
But contractually, IBM charge per instance, unless you have an 'all you can eat' license - so you need to sort this out with them to avoid issues.

also, is iboglix code for some old applix reference?

I have heard it as Icoglix, but I guess it can be iboglix just the same.

iboglix / icoglix is the merger of IBM, Cognos and Applix.
