TM1 client in VDI

Post by vistana »

Hi All,

I am currently in some confusions on what is the best/ideal way for a user of TM1 to connect to TM1. Before we have used citrix technology for users to have better performance when they connect to TM1 using perspectives. There local directory is mapped in their citrix profile so any data download from TM1 they can directly saved in their local machine.

Now I am working in a different organization and beforehand they have decided to use VDI for user to gain access to TM1.

Has anyone of you heard or tried it to install TM1 perspective clients?
If not this VDI or citrix what other setup you have to get better performance on client access?

Thank you. :?:

I'm not familiar with VDI but if it provides a Windows OS session, meaning it can run the Windows version of software, I don't see any reason why TM1 would not work. You should just give it a go and report back to the forum your experience installing it.

hi,

Thanks for your reply. It does have windows OS. But per what was explained to me, VDI will not be a single machine but multiple machines. So maybe today I will be logging to Machine 1 and the next day to Machine 2. So it will mean that I will be installing the client to all machines providing the VDI connection and will need the same Microsoft Excel licenses.

Appreciate if anyone can share how you are running now it your current install. What technology are you using when you have worldwide client connections? I am only familiar with citrix, are you using other technology?

Regards

Ana
