TM1Web install problem - No Display

While testing install of TM1 9.4 MR1, all seem to go well until iexplorer tried opening http://localhost/TM1Seb/TM1WebMain.aspx

O/S = XP 2002 SP2
XL = 2003 SP3
Browser = IE 7
IIS = 5.1
ASP.NET = 2.0
.Net Framework = 2.0
TM1 Server = planning sample

Server & Perspectives run fine.
TM1Web opens a pop-up window:- "Login to TM1 Server - Windows ..."
and after Log In, IE displays a clean white page with nothing on it!

Things I've tried so far:-
Restarted IIS, Checked default anonymous access to default web page, Added folder security for 'Everyone' all access to \Inetpub\.. directories, started tm1top and found the user for TM1Web was logged in, rebooted pc and started again..

I haven't found any documentation on versions required to run MR1. Has anyone had any success with the combination above or whether it's not even compatible

well, being a web newbie - i only had research to rely on.
anyway, after putting on FP1 and serveral combinations of folder permissions, anonymous login, web.config ...
it think the real problem was just opening the wrong page
