Special Paste Value with Excel overwritting TM1 Formula

I'd like to ask I know this is more of a Excel question.

I have one cell with the TM1User function being used. I'd like to copy & paste it on a string element. However, I noticed if I do Special Paste>Value manually the formula is not overwritten but if I do copy the macro to the button with a message box the formula is being overwritten. Can anyone give any suggestion to this.
