hi,
I have a worksheets with a chart in it. I have formatted the chart according to the user req and published as an application. When i open it in tm1 web format gets change and it looks like a mess. Is there any parameter to be changed to retain the format used in worksheets?? (TM1 version 9.5.1).

Sometimes formatting in TM1web vs Excel can be a little hit an miss. Things (not just charts) won't always appear in web exactly as they do in Excel. TM1web uses dundas charts and doesn't support all chart types, particularly mixed chart types for example. Background format, legend and colours and alignment may also not be an exact match.
Golden rule keep it simple and incrementally publish often during development to check that web appearance lines up with Excel. If yo wait until you have a finished product you can burn a lot of time going backwards peeling little bits off to find what things aren't working.
Tip: you can create the effect of advanced chart types and mixed chart types by overlaying charts with no background, border or axis on top of other charts. It's a little tedious but it can offer a solution.
