Page 231 of the 9.5 Operations Guide:
The security assignments for these three administrator groups are hard-coded and can not be modified.

I think vinnusea was referring to the fact that for application folders and blob files the security privilege settings to select from are only None, Read and Admin for all non-Admin groups as opposed to the fact that the Admin security groups are non-editable.

The answer is pretty much the same though. These are the only security rights that are applicable for application folders and entries! When an application file is "updated" the new file is copied to the }Externals folder on the server, the old file is removed and a new blob file is created. It is therefore more of a replacement than update. The concepts of write, reserve and lock security in TM1 are reserved for cube data and dimension meta data only. These concepts do not really apply to report meta data in TM1, the security for application folders is not that sophisticated.

Didnt you asked the same questions on some other forum and you got the answer there?

I agree to Alan and Lostram.

Following is from the TM1 manuals:
Members of the group can see the application, use references within the application, and create both public and private references in the application.
They can also create both public and private sub-applications.
When a group has Admin privilege to an application, members of the group can set security privileges for all references and sub-applications within the application for other groups but not their own group.
There is no WRITE access rights for the Applications.

If you want to give WRITE privileges to an application folder, for the purpose of letting someone who is not an Admin publish or update a report, you can only give them ADMIN privileges. I don't mean make them a member of the group ADMIN, I mean give them Admin rights to the application folder. Unfortunately, this means they'll also be able to delete it too.

Thats absolutly correct. Yes am adopting your advise... giving admin permissions in applications security. But not making users part of admin group... Thanks guys...
