I'll spare you the ridiculously painful full URL for this page and just say click here to see the announcement.
Effective on the dates listed below, IBM® will withdraw from marketing, part numbers from the following product release(s) licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement:
The dates are 8 September and 12 October, depending on the product.

I was going to try to copy the replaced and replacement products, but I'd be here all night. In short, the TM1 mid-market editions will be replaced (for the most part) by some variation of Cognos Enterprise Planning.

As one would expect, you should be able to cut through the impenetrable maze of licensing variations once you have completed the requisite post-graduate study in "How An IBM Licensing Droid's Mind Works". Headache tablets will be available at the door.

The MME was always just a marketing\pricing offering. Now replaced by Cognos Express ("Think BIG start small", "Easy to buy, easy to install, easy to use" etc etc )

Please spare a thought for us poor partners trying to interpret an IBM price list that self destructs every month or struggling to convince the IBM maintenance renewals team that, if a client has 5 concurrent ports and TI they probably bought a TM1 server too!

Anyway, having grumbled aabout beauraucracy I have to say that the future of TM1 under IBM Cognos, with all its credibility and marketing effort, is much much brighter than it was under Applix.
