Hello,
We are rolling out Excel 2010 soon and the TM1 Icon does not appear in the Excel menu for Excel 2010. Will there be a problem using V9.0 in Excel 2010 ?

In Excel 2007, TM1 uses tm1pRibbonX.xlam file to create the TM1 Menu.
Excel 2010 is not officially supported by TM1, but you might have to change something to this Ribbon file to get it working.

[*]9.0 is out of support with IBM and has been since the end of 2009 >

As such they have removed any documentation for 9.0 but i know from some recent testing that there are some issues with 9.0 and Excel 2007, so the chances of it working corrcetly with Excel 2010 are minimal. Stick to what they support, don't upgrade to 2010 until they support it officially and in the mean time upgrade 9.0 to (in my opinion) at least 9.4.

Steve, that's not the case. It was
going to be the case, but it was extended for a year. 9.0 support expires at the end of this year. Check the link; the date has been updated.

Not yet; I put a link to the documentation downloads for the various versions into the FAQ last weekend, including 9.0's. (It wasn't a "formal" update of the FAQ so no notice has been sent.)

Agreed completely. (About not upgrading until Excel 2010 is supported anyway. "Hold onto 9.0 until grim death" is what my 32 bit self thinks, though.)

Alan,
Thanks for the input Alan. The company is upgrading to Excel2010 because of Sharepoint which is used more widely than TM1.

oops thanks Alan, i got caught out by the table being split between cognos / applix and never saw the stuff at the bottom. that change has never officially been communicated to us tho, not that i'm surprised.
RE: sharepoint - our mob are upgrading to Office 2007 and one of their enhancements is the ability to use sharepoint with it. is it a mandatory upgrade to O2010 because of this, or just a "well its new we should probably upgrade" decision? our IT is so complex that they cannot change one thing if it has an effect on another, although TM1 useage is still reletively small here its still critical to some areas, so they have to take everything in to account, not just one piece of software.
