Can anyone give a very definitive explanation of "IN-MEMORY"...cause its sometimes causing too much confusion of TM1's IN-MEMORY technology and its benefit....especially when you're talking to non-technical people...although even with technical people, its hard to really give a definitive explanation of In-Memory.

Here's my take:

Calculated values held in RAM, not on disc,
so
Quicker - since discs have moving parts and RAM doesn't.

Short enough?

Well it is short and precise but I was hoping on a like concrete like definition...cause some people don't really know how to explain on why RAM base is faster on Disk...like what makes it fast. Cause we know there are a lot of software that adopts in-memory technology but they all find it hard to really explain it.

I've edited my post to say why it's quicker. Loses the Webernesqe brevity though. :)
