Hi guys,

I'm trying to install Xcelerator on a Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2008. I realize it is not a supported OS, but was hoping someone might be able to provide me with some insight.

The errors I get are:
SDK-ERR-0064 Installation of Xcelerator failed: Exit value = 1603
OR
SDK-ERR-0064 Installation of Xcelerator failed: MOD-ERR-0017 The language passed to the IBM_CX_XceleratorServer installer is invalid or missing
(It switches between the errors)

I did some reading up and apparently it is either because of .NET or the language settings on that machine. I do however have .NET 3.5 SP1 installed (According to IBM it is the supported version) and the language settings are set to English.

I should add that I'm not that experienced with Cognos Express yet, so I could be missing something.

Cognos Support told me that they were having problems with Windows 2008 internally which is why it is not a supported platform.

The Client reverted back to Server 2003 and the installation ran smoothly. I guess there are some issues with 2008 that needs to be sorted.
