Install TM1 9.5 Perspective: Failed & Rollback

Hi all,

I tried to install TM1 9.5 Perspective on a user's PC. It's on Vista and Office Pro 2007.

The installation started after the various selection screens. However, it seem to encounter some unknown error midway and the status bar began to rollback the installation. The final error message at the installation screen was too generic to know the cause of failure.

The funny thing is, I managed to install it successfully on two other PCs with the same configuration.

What give?

Have you look at the event viewer to see if there is anything of note.

Also I have found that the process monitor tool can help see what is going on if nothing else makes any sense. It is a free download from microsoft.

I've had similar problems in the past and the problem was down to the User Access Control (UAC) settings on Vista. Can't quite recall the reasons but I had to turn it off before the installation would complete.
