TM1 9.5 / Server 2008
I know that officially it is not supported, I am wondering whether anyonbe has practical experience with this setup though.
I have installed 9.4 on server 2008 without issues (except for the web obviously). As such I expect 9.5 to work with server 2008 as well, but I have no clue whether the contributor part will work on 2008. Anyone have any practical experience with it?

Have either of you tried installing 9.5 on a Vista Business environment? I cannot get past the userid and password portion of the installation process. Your assistance is much appreciated.

Well with Windows Serve 2008 64-bit....there's no way to install 64-bit installer. But you can install TM1 9.5 32-bit on a 64 -bit environment but your limited to TM1 Server or Perspective. I haven't tested it yet that much though.

Re: TM1 9.5 / Server 2008
Dear Friends,
I am bit new to TM1 and taking a task to upgrade TM1 Web (version 9.4.1 64 bit) from Windows 2003 Server to Windows 2008 Server.
Installation started Ok, but after some time it crashes and did the roll backup on the setup.
I am been told TM1 9.4 is not support on Windows 2008 Server.
My question is:
If we want to upgrade our server to Windows 2008 Server, which version of TM1 64 bit should we use?
Many thanks for your time,

The one that hasn't been released yet.Northdoor wrote: My question is:

If you look in the FAQ thread you'll find a link titled TM1 Support Matrix; Which O/S / Excel/ IIS etc versions can be used with TM1. That leads here where you will find, even for 9.5:
I can't really blame Iboglix for this one because as with the change from XP to Vista, the change from Server 2003 to Server 2008 wasn't just cosmetic. Microsloth made an all out, and largely successful, effort to irritate the becheezez out of its user base by providing security traps at every step of the way in an attempt to ensafen (there's a neologism for you) the operating system. This had the lovely side effect of rendering some or all of the functionality of many legacy programs broken.Windows 2008 - Not Supported
Accordingly testing TM1 under 2008 and avoiding all of the aforementioned traps (particularly with Web) is a non-trivial process. It may well be that 2008 is supported in a later service pack of 9.5, but I wouldn't be horrified if it wasn't supported until 9.6.

Re: TM1 9.5 / Server 2008
I heard informally that Server 2008 should be officially supported in 9.5 FP1. And, given 9.5 was released in Dec 09, I would expect FP1 to be coming out in the next month or so. Cant be sure but fingers crossed...

Re: TM1 9.5 / Server 2008
All,
Thanks for the tips and the links to IBM as to which versions are supported.
I just started installing TM1 web on x64 Windows Server 2008 and was wondering why the install kept crashing. I probably will end up going back to Win2003 as I doubt I'll be allowed to run TM1 on an unsupported O/S.
Regards,
Paul
