Dear gurus,
can you please let me know how to import TM1 data to other OLAP tool like MIK using CUBEWARE IMPORTER.
Thanks in advance.

Anshu

Hello,
1. TM1 is an OLE DB for OLAP provider. Maybe CUBEWARE IMPORTER can connect to TM1 via OLE DB.
2. You can export TM1 cubes by TI / TM1 Excel macro function / manually into ASCII file.
3. You can export TM1 cubes by TI into relational tables.

Peter

Hi,
Cubeware Importer has a native connect to TM1. If your destination database format is supported by Importer (f.i. Palo, PowerOlap, MSAS, Essbase), you can use the migration wizard to convert your cubes (excl. rules) and dimensions to the new database format. Data still needs to be exported from the source database and loaded into the new database. Also rules still need to be translated manual to the new database.
MIK is not natively supported by Importer. I'm not sure whether MIK can be updated through OLE DB for OLAP. In case of MIK I think you need to Export data and metadata and use the tooling for MIK to rebuild the model in this database.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I need to explain my point in detail.like i have one cube in TM1 which have following dimensions:years,scenario,periods,employee_grade,employee_type and employee_costs(measure dimensions some rules are written).i have created same model in MIK with same dimensions. In importer i mapped all the dimensions but when i execute,it throws some input value error. I guess its related to measure dimension because some elements are driven by rules.
just give some solution to it.

Anshu

In TM1 TI you can check whether a cell is update-able or not during the process which help you to avoid meaningless error messages.
I do not now whether the Cubeware importer for MIK has a similar function.

Hello All,
I am importing dimensions rather than importing the whole cube into MIK from TM1 using CUBEWARE IMPORTER.
Now my problem is i am getting a flat structure instead of parent/child relationship means no hierarchy.
I am playing with different options but no success yet.if you guys have any idea on it then please help me.
Thankyou.

Anshu

Hi Anshu,
What version of Importer are you using? What driver did you select in Importer to connect to the MIK database?
What dimension update object do you use in your mapping (parent/child or full hierarchy)?

Hi Anshu,
Regarding the driver: if you right-click the regarding multidimensional database object and select Properties, what is specified in the driver field?
