Hi All,

I am working as a tm1 developer, but I am still unable to find out the reason why not tm1 can be network folder application instead of RAM based application.

What would be added adavantage when comparing to other olap tools in terms of RAM.

Fast on the fly calculation and recalculation which is a big advantage especially for planning and budgeting.

To access any particular piece of data, a hard drive takes about 0.013 seconds (13 milliseconds).
To access any particular piece of data, RAM takes about 0.000 000 01 seconds.

Network would be even slower. Things have probably changed a bit since this article was written, But I doubt the gap between RAM and HDD has been closed that much...
