BI Cognos Solutions Architect, Perth

An opportunity exists to join our major client as a Business Intelligence Solutions Architect based in their Central Perth Office.
You will be is responsible for providing professional technical advice in the development and design of ICT BI solutions for the organisation's diverse business requirements, including the design of major BI development and upgrade projects and investigating the impact of BI design changes across various systems.
It is essential that candidates for this role have the following:
* Extensive experience in successfully delivering major business BI solutions into implementation within a large structured, enterprise ICT environment.
* Demonstrated experience in the application of architecture frameworks, formal SDLC and Application Development methodologies.
* Comprehensive knowledge of BI Solution Architecture development, including related process, information and technology architecture concepts.
* Comprehensive skills and considerable experience in applications development, infrastructure architecture and IT operations with the following toolsets: (In order of priority)
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of Business Intelligence reporting tools, preferably IBM Cognos v8
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of ETL tools, preferably IBM DataStage v8.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of building high quality Logical and Physical Data Modelling, including relational, dimensional and flat-file data structures.
* Exposure to Oracle DBA functions translating dimensional models into physical table structures, indexing plans and performance management.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of metadata management and associated use of metadata tools, preferably IBM MetaData Workbench.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of Mincom’s Ellipse ERP application and underlying database or equivalent ERP experience.
* Demonstrated experience in building an EDW from any of the following source systems, Mincom Ellipse, Reservation System’s, CRM’s.
* Strong technical skills for detailed data analysis for 3NF EDW & dimensional models. Understanding of common data patterns i.e. history from multiple source systems.
* Extensive knowledge of contemporary EDW & BI application architecture concepts, technologies and methodologies.
* Degree qualifications in a computing science, information technology, business or commerce
