Strings - attributes or separate dimension?

I know TM1 & strings don't really mix, but when dealing with capital projects, there's a fair amount of static data i.e. as description, location, etc etc. So in setting up a capital project cost cube, I've decided to split out the strings and put them into a separate cube with 2 dimensions (project ref & strings).

Am I going to too much trouble or would using attributes be a better approach?

Hi JF,
Sounds OK, a string cube is much more accessable to users as well.
Cheers

Attributes are in fact held in simple two dimension cubes with the same structure as you mention (go to View -> Control Objects to a see these attribute cubes, plus a few other control cubes) so in your case it's a simple matter of how you'd like to see and use them.

If they're going to be used in rules then I'd suggest attributes would be better. If it's simply for information purposes then a string cube like you've got is probably better because it's easier to present to the users.
