How do I do this on the forum?

Does not translate to user ratings though, just for posts. Would be interested in feedback on whether this is good enough, or we wait for a mod that does aggregate post ratings into user ratings.

NB: You have to make at least one post yourself logged into the test mode before you can rate someone else's post.

Sorry, forgot to report back. Went to the link and saw the user ratings; however, didn't see anything about voting buttons. Maybe I am I blind or is it possible Admins are only allowed to post with voting buttons.

I've noticed that my "Karma" has been affected by votes, so it would appear that the votes do in fact have a global impact on the user, which is good. I'm not sure at the moment, but I would guess the Karma will indicate what your average rating is. Above three being good, below three being not good.

Something to keep an eye on.

Karma module provides the (weighted) average rating over a period that fades out by dividing this period in to intervals. This way the youngest interval has a greater influence and the oldest. I.e. from now to 30 days ago has a greater influence than 30 days ago to 60 days ago.

I'm sure that I could work this out /explain it for myself, but it's late, over 500 of my colleagues got the sack today, and I'm going to bed, perchance to dream albeit not very pleasantly.

However before I do so I note that the test environment and the live environment seem to be replicating in some way. I made the "interesting concept" post over there, yet I see it here.

I'm not saying that that's wrong, just something to be aware of in case you post something way "out there" in the test environment thinking that that's the only place it'll appear. You know, as opposed to the more sober, moderate posts about emotional TI processes or pictures of members in Speedos that you get in the live environment.

In the test environment I've voted the posts in this thread in order:

Martin's 5
Eric's 3
Martin's 4.

Y'all can go ahead and try to shift the numbers by casting your own votes.

The "testforum" relates only to the front end and currently only this voting thing is under test.

The backend where the posts are stored is one and the same.
