I was recently upgrading a clients installation from 9.4.0 to 9.4.1 FP2. First off was the Dev server, and then after a week's wait it would be the Prod server.
Turns out the TM1 client cannot be upgraded all the way to 9.4.1 FP2, as it's not compatabile with the older 9.4.0 version. Have reported this issue to IBM.
64-bit Prod Server is: TM1 9.4
64-bit Dev Server is upgraded to: TM1 9.4 MR1 FP2 HF16
TM1 9.4.1 FP2 & TM1 9.4.0

This isn't a bug. It is quite well publicised that 9.4.1 FP1 and FP2 will only install over the 9.4.1 (MR1) full release and IBM support should have told you as much.
