Hi there,
At a client I needed to revert to version 9.1 SP2 from 9.4. In the end of the installation of TM1Web I got the error message below:

Error 1609: An error occured while applying security settings. IUSR_NOTFOUND is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain ...

Has anyone already had this issue?

Thanks for your support, Daniel

Which operating system, and why do I get a bad feeling that the answer is going to be either Vista or Windows Server 2008?

The TM1 server is running on a Windows Server 2003.

Best to specify the whole thing; 64 bit, 32 bit, Enterprise Edition, etcetera, etcetera...

However that's neither here nor there at the moment. If it really is 2003 and therefore not hamstrung by Vista /2008's new security model, then what it sounds like is that the built in Internet Guest Account is missing or has in some way been disabled. This account is typically named (I'm looking at XP here but I think it's the same on the server, however I can't check that until the morning) IUSR_NameOfServer.

If you take a look at page 6-82 and following of the Operations Guide (9.4 version), you'll see that that account is used for anonymous access. If it's missing that's going to be a problem. First place I'd look is in the management console; Right click on My Computer, select Manage, and take a look in System Tools -> Local Users and Groups -> Users (folder) and see whether there's an IUSR_NameOfServer account there. (And if there is, take a look at its properties and make sure that it's not disabled.)

Though admittedly it's the "NOTFOUND" part of the cited name that's a bit of a concern. Hopefully someone else may be able to offer some further insight; I'm afraid that I'm out of here until morning.
