View Transaction logs not working in 9.4?

Has anyone else noticed that in x64 TM1 9.4 MR1 FP1 and FP2 that when you try and select servername --> Server --> View Transaction Log OR Right click server and "View transaction log" nothing happens?

Cube logging is turned on, I can see the log files in my logging directory and open them but previously available functionality (in other versions) to view these records and filter in perspectives does not respond. There is no message in the message log or server event view to indicate that some failed to open.....

Can someone else confirm whether they experience the problem in 9.4? Both my TM1 servers (dev and prod) have the same issue but I would like to know if it affects others before I log as an issue with IBM/Cognos.

What are you looking for in the config file given transaction logging is not controlled by a parameter in the config file but rather whether cube logging is turned on or off??

Yes, I have seen this - for both the Transaction and Server Message logs. The issue occurred on a remote Perspectives client and everything worked normally using Perspectives on the actual TM1 server. The FP2 client is definitely buggy but you could log a SR all the same ...

LoggingDirectory=C:\TM1\Logging\
there was a problem, but i think it happened in 9.1 SP3 or another funny version (maybe 9.4 w/o sp), if you had no \ at the end of the LoggingDirectory path you were not able to open the transaction Log with tm1p.

thats why i asked for the config.


if you downgrade your client it works?

Hi,

anyone have an update on this issue? Our Server is 9.4.1 FP2, client is 9.4.1 & the Server -> View Transaction Log function doesn't work.

Hi Gregory, "view transaction logs" only started working for me after I did a complete reinstall of the TM1 client on my pc....

Did a deinstall/reinstall of Perspectives => no change.
Did a deinstall/reinstall & this time included Architect in the install => now it works.
?
