Excel 2007 - Most stable valid version

As part of our office upgrade next year we are having to go to Excel 2007.

We are currently on 8.4.5 32bit on Windows Server 2003, with the 3GB switch (and regularly hitting that).

We had a flirtation with 9.0 but that went horribly wrong with large locking issues that kept bringing down the server.

We are hoping to go onto a new TM1 version (still 32bit) but on a 64 bit platform to try and open up a bit more memory for us

According to this post some time ago

As a side note, one of the nice things about running a 32-bit instance of TM1 on a 64-bit platform is that the 32-bit TM1 instance can see up to 4GB of RAM vs. the max of 2 or 3GB (depending on configuration and OS edition) on a 32-bit platform. It isn't as much RAM as a 64-bit license/instance running on a 64-bit, but every GB helps.
From the looks of previous posts on this topic then 9.1 is officially "limited support"
9.4 is sorta kinda full support

I have no preference really as we aren't intending to use the features that come with these newer versions, it should be purely a technical upgrade.

9.1 SP4 seemed to be the choice 9 months ago, but I don't know if that has changed.

What stable platform that allows Excel 2007 would people recommend.

Thanks

We have stayed on 9.1 for now as 9.4 seems to have quite a few issues. We are only running excel 2003 though.

If you need the features of 9.4 I would recommend FP1 (on it for about 9 months without any major issues). Through our testing and from experiences that others have had FP2 seems to have alot of issues.

If you dont need the features then I would concur with Jim on going with 9.1.
