Customizing Maps in TM1

Hi,

I am using Cognos BI for some years and know I am making tests with TM1 respectively Cognos Express to evaluate with product fits best for different projects.

In Executive Viewer the visualisation with maps is quite easy but the layout of these maps is not that what we require. In Cognos BI you have the possibility to design your own maps - in TM1 I could not find the files for these maps or a user guide how to customize the map functionality.

is there a possibility to exchange the standard maps? I saw that there is a library in the maps options but I don't know how to design such a library.

thx
Klaus

I recall that this was possible with EV. Suggest you take your question to http://www.evusers.org

- you can create your own maps with programs like "JT Maps 2005"

- or download other map "packs" from ibm. (please don't ask me from where, somewhere i found nice maps of europe more detailled than world)
or maybe buy them from somewhere?

here are the maps stored on the ev server:
%programfiles%\IBM Cognos TM1\Executive Viewer\Server\Maps

edit the libinfo.xml and the .dbf files if you want to change something like the used alias for the ev mapping
e.g. we use a alias named "ev_mapping" where the name of the countries are mapped to the names of the countries in tm1 and so on. we also had to change the names of the states in austria because in the original world map pack they had wrong names

you can find more informations in the manuals..
