Server Disconnect error when using cube view

Post by harrytm1 »

Hi all,

The server is using TM1 9.4MR1 FP002. One PC is using Excel 2007 while another PC is using Excel 2003. Both are installed with 9.4MR1 without any FP.

I used both PC and both got kicked out from Server Explorer while using cube view. Here's the situation:

I pulled down 2 dimensions as Row dimensions. The Period dimension is the column dimension. I first generated a view with a PL account as the title dimension. The selected account is a simple entry element. The cube was generated successfully.

When the account is a consolidated element like PAT, it works fine too.

However, when I select any calculated element i.e. rule-driven such as Gross Profit Margin, the view is not generated. Instead, after about 10 sec of inactivity, I was logged out of Server Explorer with a message like Server Disconnect. I will have to close the Server Explorer manually.

If I try to login through Server Explorer again by double-clicking the server icon, the login screen fails to appear. I will then have to either reboot my PC or wait for a few minutes before logging in.

It seems that my session was locked. The funny thing is, when I run the same data files using my PC as a local server (9.4MR1 without FP), it works like a charm, as expected.

Knowing that simple stacking of dimensions is a bread and butter task for TM1, what would have caused the session to disconnect? Because client is non-Fix Pack while server is on FP002?
