Does PAfE fully support alternative hierarchies?

Hi,

I'm searching for an answer if PAfE fully support alternative hierarchies. I tried something like SUBNM("Database:Dimension:Hierarchy";;1) in Excel but couldn't get it to work in such a simple case not to mention a more complex situtation with TM1RPTVIEW & DBRW. Is it supported and if what does the syntax look like?

Best regards

Yes, depending on the report type used.
Universal Reports - Fully support
Quick Reports - Fully support
Exploration - Fully support
Custom Report - Limited support with use of TM1Set
Dynamic Report - Limited support with use of TM1Set

The universal reports can be designed to replace dynamic and custom reports but it is not an exact like for like replacement.
To use universal reports you will need to have a recent (past year) version of the software and there have been a number of enhancements to Universal Reports over that time.

See link below on Universal Reports
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-an ... al-reports

TM1Set is a new function which looks to replace SUBNM but with additional hierarchies, see link below
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-an ... tm1set.htm

If you have a up-to-date version of PAfE, then the Universal Report options should be available.

Good overview Burnstripe - On the requirements, besides a recent version of PAfE, your TM1 server should be recent too >2.0.9.18 and your PASS/TM1Web would likely need to be around 2.0.99 or newer, iirc...

Universal Report static layout supports hierarchies too
