Hello

I need to make corrections to a subset of Time Dimension. I started getting Time Dimension error notices on Jan. 1, 2025 because the YYYY-MM alias is displayed as Jan 2025, instead of 2025-01. Feb 2025 should be 2025-02 and so on. I did not create this subset and I am a baby in TM1. May someone please tell me how to make the corrections to this alias view for the remainder of the fiscal year. I have posted a screenshot of the view that needs correction. Here is detailed shot of 2024-12 which is correct And here is detailed shot of Jan 2025 which is wrong FYI, we recently upgraded to PAfE/PAW but we still run Perspectives on another environment so I can update via Architect or PAfE. I just don't know how to make the change. Also, in case it matters, I did receive a message window informing that the subset was created via expression and any changes made would make the subset static.
The goal is to get all of 2025 formatted properly for alias YYYY-2025. I only need to make corrections to that format. The format is correct for MonthFiscalYear view. I have subsets for FY25 BUT there is also an N Level subset that has this incorrect for 2025 so would I make the corrections at the N Level or at the FY25 subset?

Let's start with the alias and ignore any changes to the subset itself. Since your screenshots are architect/perspectives, here's specific instructions for updating the alias there: In server explorer of Architect/Perspectives, right-click the dimension and select "Edit Element Attributes". You'll then be able to populate the YYYY-MM alias for the 2025 elements. It also looks like you'll want to populate the "End Date" and "Prior" attributes for each 2025 month.

You were right not to save over the dynamic subset. See if the subset self-corrects after you update the alias. Report back and include the subset expression if it's still not working. You can get the subset expression, but opening the subset in subset editor and then selecting View->Expression Window. The MDX will be in the tray that appears at the bottom of the subset editor.

Someone else will likely chime in about training recommendations. Don't be offended, but definitely take their advice under consideration because what you're specifically asking about would be covered in any intro to TM1 development course.

You might also want to check that these Time dimension elements and attributes are not updated via a rule and/or a TI process, though more likely a TI process.

I doubt it given the issues you are seeing but it isn't uncommon to automate these time dimension updates and is something you need to check, as the issue could be with the rule or process.

Ascheevel your detailed and easy to follow response was exactly what I was looking for! I did right click on the dimension yesterday but I was too scared to make any changes to the attributes for fear that I would break something! Also, I do not take offense at your suggestion for training. I did complete some courses with IBM online but I know they were not comprehensive. I would gladly accept any training suggestions you have since I am serious about becoming TM1 certified and, more importantly, comfortable and capable. I know a TM1 certified person and they are just as scared as I am with addressing changes. I don't want to be that person. I want to retain the information and have confidence that I am doing it correctly.
