Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post as there are no dedicated forum for Cognos Express (yet).

Well, I managed to go through the maze of multiple pages of logins, forms, licenses agreements, and failed download manager, to get to the actual download link of the 1.5GB install zip for Cognos Express trial.
I unpacked on a server that fits the requirements (Windows Server 2003 SP2 x64), and ran the install.exe.
Finally the Cognos Express Manager pops up in IE as http://localhost:19300/cognos_express/manager/main.html , I click Finish and the following error message appears:
"An error has occured
SDK-ERR-0034 Unable to find Module ID: IBM_CX_Core"

I tried their dedicated support email cetrial@ca.ibm.com however it seems as fast and responsive as their TM1 support. I wouldn't normally be in a hurry of getting an answer back but I understand this is a 30 day trial, from the time you agreed to the license, not from the actual use.

Have you got any suggestions to fix that error?

Symptom
When logged into Cognos Express Manager and trying to install one of the 3 modules, the following errors appear:

SDK-ERR-0064 Installation of Xcelerator failed:
or
SDK-ERR-0064 Installation of Advisor failed:
or
SDK-ERR-0064 Installation of Reporter failed:
SDK-ERR-0001 Discovery path: //server/share/Modules, not found

Cause
UNC path are not supported for Cognos Express

Solution
Steps
1. Copy the installation source to a local directory of the Cognos Express server.
2. Uninstall Cognos Express
3. Reinstall Cognos Express using the local directory

Installing IBM Cognos Express Manager from UNC Path or Mapped Network Drive Does Not Work
You must install IBM Cognos Express Manager from a local disk. If you installed from a UNC
path or mapped network drive, you encounter the following error when you launch IBM Cognos
Express Manager:
An error has occured
SDK-ERR-0034 Unable to find module ID IBM_CX_Core
To solve this problem, uninstall IBM Cognos Express using Add or Remove Products. Then, copy
the installation files to the local drive of your computer and run the install.exe file.

And no, I didn't read them until I got the same error either...
