Shift+F9 Recalculating Every Sheet

I thought I'd start a new thread, as further invetigation suggests it's nothing to do with the macros/API functions as such.
When I have the 'Refresh data on Excel recalculation keys' option ticked Shift+F9 will recalculate every sheet in the book, updating TM1 Excel functions (DBRW formulas etc.) as well as standard Excel functions. If I untick that option, Shift+F9 will update standard Excel functions on the active sheet only (i.e. it will function as it should) but won't update TM1 Excel functions obviously.
Also, with the option unticked, all the API Refresh functions will recalculate the entire book.
Formulas are set to Manual calculation, so it shouldn't be automatically recalculating everything.
It seems like there's something that's forcing a recalculation whenever TM1/PAx formulas are updated, but I can't find any setting that might relate to this.
Excel version is 365, PAx 2.0.77.3
