New to Tm1 - question on how to access }StatsByCube

Hello,

I am relatively new to Tm1 and I have been working with our third party on TM1 migrations.

I am mainly and Oracle/SQL DBA, so I don't know much how TM1 works, although I am familiar with some older analytic/OLAP tools.

I wanted to check how to access the stats cubes when the Performance monitor is enabled. Which tool do I use?

1) Excel TM1 plugin?
2) Tm1 Architect on the server?

I do have access to the TM1 admin account. The problem is, my IT department does not have a dedicated an IT TM1 admin, so one of the users maintains everything in Tm1, but it's a finance analyst and is not really an IT person.

This document tells me what I can explore, but it doesn't mention the basics for a newbie. Can someone point me to a good presentation with screen shots?

Kind Regards,
Richard

You can use either the Excel addin, PAW, Architect or custom build something with the API. You will need turn Performance Monitor on for the particular server instance to have any results in the }Stats cubes. I typically use Architect.

In Architect, right click the instance and click <Start Performance Monitor>.

Then play around with the cubes. One useful view I have is Top Ten Cubes by Memory Used in }StatsByCube.
