Setting element weighting to less than 0.001

Server: x64 TM19.4 FP2
Client: TM1 9.4 MR1
Setting element weighting to values less than or equal to 0.001 in a dimension worksheet (xdi) is not possible and the element weight defaults to 1.
Updating the element weighting via the dimension editor with the same value works fine.
I can't confirm whether this was a problem in other versions.
Can someone confirm?

No such problem in 9.1 SP4 (9.1.40000.70 32 bit with Excel 2003). I tried with 0.1, 0.001, and 0.0001. All values returned as expected.

I can also confirm it in 32 bit 9.4 FP2, though I'm finding that the problem kicks in earlier; 0.1 is OK but 0.01 will also weight as 1.
Are you going to report this as a bug? If so, could you please post the details of the SR in the Bugs forum.

thanks for confirming Alan.
I will try and log this via an SR but I'm still waiting for my access to the IBM SR portal to be "approved".
I'm hoping that someone will also confirm whether my issue raised in this post
http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1590
is a bug so I can log that at the same time.

Yeah, that can be painful. I can log it if you want just to get the ball rolling, or I'll leave it for you; your choice.
I'll take a look at that in 9.1 but to be honest I'd be inclined to avoid merged cells with SubNms.
(
Edit: I might recant that given that they seem to partially overcome an Applix design issue...)

Hi jed - I was wondering why you would want to set an element weight to less than 0.001 ? Just curious !

There are many uses for element weighting.... for example you could use a consolidation with weighting of 0.001 to convert a value to thousands (obviously there are other ways to do this with formatting too). I use element weights less than 0 to perform numerous volume metric type conversions via consolidation. It's more efficient and easier than using rules.
This has now been logged with IBM details in this bug posting:
