Good to see we're not the only people that wrestle with this!

I saw that too and had a good chuckle.

Lies, damned lies and statistics!

For everyone who hates this "feature"... go here: https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/3049 ... ate-format

Cast your vote. Raise your voice. Have your say.

Of course it's possible that the Office development team are arrogant enough to ignore it just as they did with the 1200+ people who voted to have the option of a multiple document interface reinstated in Excel after it was changed to "Single document interface, no option" in Excel 2013. Supposedly this was in response to "user requests" though strangely they never seemed to be able to produce a single one of these "users", nor explain how REMOVING MDI actually benefited users who wanted to use SDI when users who wanted to do that already had that option.

Still, OCCASIONALLY they listen. While they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to do it, they finally did restore the ability to pin folders in the File -> Open dialog, an option that was originally removed in Excel 2016. The User Voice thread for that has since been deleted, curiously. I'd suggest that it was to avoid publicly displaying how much MS screwed up by removing the feature in the first place, but there is no evidence of that. Still, one may speculate. Regardless, though, it means that voting on User Voice isn't ALWAYS a waste of time.

If you want this fixed... have at it, citizens.
