SAP-BW Turbointegrator Connect does not work in PA 2.07

Hello,
I am currently setting up Planning Analytics 2.07.

I have already installed ODBC drivers (64-bit) for Oracle and SAP.

Access to the Oracle database via the data source by the turbo integrator works without problems.

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to connect to SAP BW.

The connection test in the ODBC settings was successful.

As soon as I select this data source in the turbo integrator, the following error message always appears: "Cannot open connection to database"

I also tried the following system parameters in tm1s.cfg:

TM1ConnectorforSAP = T
UseNewConnectorforSAP = T

Unfortunately, I was not able to access it by selecting the data source type "SAP".

I would now be interested to know how I can access SAP BW with the turbointegrator?

Thank you very much!

Hi _BM_
I don't have an answer for you but some more questions that may clarify the position.

Is this a new install or an upgrade?
Has the connector every worked?
Assuming this is an on-premise build?

"Cannot open connection to database"

This would normally mean that either the PA hardware can not see the SAP hardware or there is a rights issue with the account being used to make the connection and the SAP DB.
The account would normally / often be the service account of the TM1 Database.

Cheers (and welcome to the forum)

Hi Steve Rowe,
Thank you very much for your efforts.
It is a new installation of PA.
The original ODBC driver from SAP was installed.
The test connection in the ODBC settings for SAP BW was successful.
The user with whom the TM1 service was started has admin rights.
I am at a loss myself.

There are at least three different methods to connect TM1 to SAP BW:

1)
By using a dedicated connector.
Depending on which dedicated connector is being used, the optional TM1 server configuration parameters TM1ConnectorforSAP or UseNewConnectorforSAP must be enabled.
The decicated connector is not using ODBC.

2)
By ODBC, by using the SAP HANA ODBC Driver.

There are some threads in the forum on TM1 and the SAP HANA ODBC Driver.

3)
By using Cognos Integration Server (CIS).
