9.4.1 FP2 - Excel Crashes when refreshing spreadsheets

Hi All
We recently upgraded from Ver 9.1 SP3 to ver 9.4.1 FP2. We had to roll this back ,as it was discovered that when users refreshed their spreadsheets, more than once , it would cause Excel to crash. We have Office 2003 installed.
The following error message was displayed
AppName: excel.exe AppVer: 11.0.8231.0 AppStamp:48934d57
ModName: tm1api.dll ModVer: 9.4.10200.61478 ModStamp:4a3f136e
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00016a89
We refreshed the same spreadsheets with FP1 , and did not encounter these issues.
This has been logged with IBM, and we are waiting for their response.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance for your input
Armand

Every time I have ever had this issue with a user it has been resolved by going to
http://office.microsoft.com --> Downloads --> Check for free updates (or Start --> Microsoft Update if you've already done this before) and installing every one of the Excel patches. YMMV.

There is clearly an issue with the client of 9.4.1 FP2 see also this
link
IBM state to use the client for 9.4.1 FP1 and wait until FP3 for a fix for the issue on the FP2 client.
Can I remind users of the forum to try and update this section of the forum with known issues. Some people could have been saved pain if this issue had been posted when it was first noted.
Cheers!

Hi,
IBM released a hot fix HF16 which fixes this bug and few more including the popup error "Error in macro Excel_TM1ServerConnect SCODE = 800010105. The server threw an exception".

Hi
We are contemplating installing this hotfix.
Has anyone had any experience with this Hot Fix?
Cheers

probably not, seeing as even if you are signed up to receive notification of new software from IBM they don't tell you it even exists

Hotfixes aren't announced as they are basically code patches that have barely been tested. One either needs to hear about them (like here) or have an open support ticket that references the bug/issue (good luck with that).

Yes.. This is like an emergency fix we got when we reported this problem to IBM... We do not face this multiple recalculate issue anymore...

HF16 on our Vista / Office 2007 test laptop results in Excel crashing all the time while running our load tests.
We were given the HotFix to try and get our performance back (load models were taking 5+ times longer on Vista / Office 2007 / 9.4.1 than XP / Office 2003 / 9.1.3) and also to see if it addressed the "stutter" question I'd asked about before.
