I have bought an azure VM with 16GB RAM. Now I have installed PA architect and TM1WEB in it. I have not (not planning to) install Cognos Analytics or use Active Directory for now.

Now in my VM I'm able to access TM1WEB using local host. But when I try to use TM1WEB (https://machinename:9510/tm1web/) from my local machine (which would obviously be in another network), I'm getting "page cannot be displayed".

Please let me know how to make TM1WEB open to all users around the globe to access my VM's planning sample instance?

I doubt this has anything to do with TM1. I've never used Azure but I have a good bit of experience with AWS. When you say machinename
are you referring to the internal machine name in Azure or the externally facing IP/MachineName? You need to use an address that people outside of the Azure network can address.

I tried with the IP address I use to login to the VM. You know the address that appears on the top blue floating bar once you login to the VM.

And yeah what address I should be using for people outside the azure network can use?

I even tried switching off the VM's firewall but couldn't use the URL I pasted above from my local computer.

Are you using SSL/TSL ? Http vs https

This is my test project. I don't use SSL or TLS. I'm trying to access the VM using http

Also I don't see this directory named conf, so possibly no server.xml in tomcat folder.

\tm1_64\tomcat\conf\server.xml

Did you check the firewall? Both the windows one and there is probably some azure security stuff as well.
