CM-REQ-4024 The name "XXXXXXXX" conflicts with the names of existing object(s)

Hi Gurus,
TM1 - version PA-2.0.4
BI - version - 11.1
This has been explained earlier to delete the application on the BI side and it works. When I delete, it works but the application state is lost (all ownership details are lost.)
Is there a way to hold the application state (without taking backup) and still be able to deploy?
